Hey, Governor Easley!

  • Nov. 15th, 2007 at 4:25 PM

I have successfully reduced my water usage by 50%. I went from using 2 units (1496 gal.) a month to using 1 unit (798 gal.) a month over the past two months. That's going from ~50 gallons/day to ~25 gallons/day. Granted, it only saved me $9.68 on my water bill, but that's beside the point.

I'm proud of myself.

Good for you. You should be proud. I've been trying to reduce our water use too, although I've always been careful. The bigger issue is that once the water level goes back to normal, people (including me, to a point) tend to return to their old habits. It should be treated like money - be as judicious when you have it as when you don't.

Thanks, Maura!
Seeing as I don't do well being judicious about money when I have some, that doesn't code well for my water usage future... but I'm hoping that most of these new habits will stick.
